THE dedication, hard work and creativity of local businesses was recognised at the Dewsbury Reporter Series Business Awards last Thursday.
The black-tie gala evening at Dewsbury Town Hall saw the top entrepreneurs from Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Spen gather to celebrate their achievements.
Welcoming guests to the awards, Reporter Series editor Hannah Ridgeway said the judges had been delighted by the number of high quality entrants this year.
And guest speaker MP Ed Balls, the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, said he was honoured to be part of celebrations recognising the success of local businesses at such a challenging time in the economy.
During the ceremony, hosted by BBC Look North’s Harry Gration, awards were presented in 11 categories, including Employee of the Year, New Business of the Year and Young Business Person of the Year.
