GLOBAL warming is now taking place with politicians calling climate change the biggest challenge facing the world today.

If we act now, scientists estimate that the average worldwide temperature could increase by as little as 1C by the end of this century.

The Wakefield Express aims to raise the profile of environmental issues across the district.

Why do people demand plastic bags for a sandwich,sausage roll etc.I work in a bakers in Wakefield and am appauld at the amount of plastic bags we use every day.
