Hospice Aniversary Special
THE hospice is very much a volunteer-led organisation with over 300 local people supporting it in a variety of roles from its 13 retail shops and in the care centre in Halfpenny Lane, Pontefract.
Volunteers donated more than 82,912 hours last year, which saved the hospice a staggering £375,804 in costs.
Many have donated countless hours to the hospice and some supporters have made remarkable contributions to its development including Phyl Hague and Alice Sykes, both of whom had their dedication nationally acknowledged when they were each given an award from the League of Mercy Foundation.
