THE Wakefield Express has launched a city-wide short story competition as part of our Read on Wakefield campaign.

In a bid to improve literacy levels in Wakefield,we want as many children and teenagers to show off their creative writing skills by entering an original story, from 100 to 1,000 words, into our Write On competition.

The competition is open to anyone aged 8 to 18 and as well as a range of exciting prizes up for grabs, the winning entries will also be published.

Attach the form below and a picture of yourself to your entry and send to Story Time, Read on Wakefield, Wakefield Express, Southgate, Wakefield, WF1 1TE. Closing date is March 30.
