Nominate your Wakefield sports stars of the year 2008

LET’S give credit to Wakefield’s sporting stars!

Following on from the repeated success of past awards, we are again giving you the chance to nominate your favourite sports player or team of the year.

We have joined forces with Wakefield Council’s sports and recreation department to honour the district’s sporting achievers.
Use the nomination form to select your choice for any of the categories by the closing date of Friday, July 18, 2008.

Do you know of anyone whose sporting efforts are outstanding?

Are there any juniors or disabled sports people whose abilities or efforts are worthy of community recognition?
Let us know by completing the form and sending it to Sports Awards, Express Sport, Express House, Southgate, Wakefield WF1 1TE.

All nominees must compete within the Wakefield District, which stretches from Ossett in the west to Knottingley in the east and from Castleford in the north and South Kirkby in the south.

The winners will be revealed at an exciting event at Castleford Civic Centre on Monday, September 22, 2008, starting at 7.30pm.
