Rules 1 The competition is open to all residents of the Wakefield District and for those who provide coaching or administration for teams or individuals who reside wholly within the Wakefield District. 2 The District is defined as any residence within the boundaries of the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council. 3 Nominations will not be accepted from people who live outside the Wakefield District. 4 Any nominee must be considered an amateur within their organisation and sports governing body. 5 Teams or individuals nominated must be affiliated to a sports governing body or a recognised association or organisation which promotes a sport. 6 Nominations shall be considered for achievements between July 13, 2007, and July 18, 2008. 7 Junior awards will be for under 18 years old as of July 18, 2008. 8 Senior awards will be for 18-year-olds and over as of July 18, 2008. 9 Nominations for the lifetime achievement award will be considered for anyone with over ten years dedication to a sporting club, body or organisation. 10 Reasons for nominations must be in writing and sent with the sports awards nomination form. 11 Applications will only be considered if they are sent to the correct address and received by the organisers prior to 4pm on the closing date (July 18, 2008). 12 Any nominator must first seek permission from the nominee prior to the submission of the application form. 13 Applications will
be judged on merit by the appointed panel. 14 The panels
decision on all matters arising will be final. 15 Only category winners
and runners up will be invited to attend the sports awards ceremony at
Castleford Civic Centre on September 22, 2008 starting at 7.30pm. 16 Each nominee will
be responsible for his/her own travel arrangements. 17 Each winner in
each category will receive an appropriate memento to denote their achievement. 18 Finalists may be
required to participate in publicity for the event. 19 No expenses will
be paid in relation to attendance at the event. 20 The organisers
reserve the right to add, remove or redefine categories at their discretion. 21 The organisers decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. |
